OT: Bug-a-Salt question

Those of you who have one.  How is it holding up?   Cheap plastic mechanisms break after a few months, or........?

table salt or coarse kosher? Surely not a single grain per shot, is it? but more like a shotgun firing many? Work on wasps? ants? Damage wood siding?

I kill everything with it. Flies, spiders, etc.  It's also an effective way to get your kids out of snack drawer too!

Mine has got to be 3-4 yrs old. I want to upgrade to the new version. Mine has shot more nipples than bugs.

I have version 2, about 8 months, took it camping several times, used around the house.  Works great.   I use table salt, shoot a small spray, effective with any insects...

The camo model is 12.99 more.  It looks cooler, but would the camo help me sneak  stumble up to the flys more effectively...

Also, would this be a good tool for getting a kid out of bed in the mornings?

I believe the new version has replaceable parts. I have the newer one and it's great fun. So far no issues except for the humidity clumping the salt a little in the receiver. Even taken out wasps but the best was the big caterpillars on the tomatoes...lol

I have the 2.0, about a year old and still works like it did when i got it. I doesn't kill wood bees, stuns them a bit sometimes. I still have a badminton racquet for that though

We had those wood bees growing up. We would hit them with a bat, a stick, or racquetball racket and called the game "bee ball."

Nah. I have two boys, so ill order two and blame it on booze. The I'll get drunk and shoot my wife in the a$$ and blame it on booze.

i've only had my 2.0 version for a few months. I find i need to be within 2ft for a fly kill.  3ft is a knock down with a second kill shot.  I use cheap table salt. my college aged son and his buddies have enjoyed using it to sneak up behind one another and shooting them in any exposed skin.  Definitely not recommended.
