I'm not a betting person nor even a horse racing fan, but something I picked up on Saturday piqued my interest. I heard on TV that early on Saturday somebody, somewhere plunked down $80K for Exaggerator to win. That takes guts! After reading the pay out today I see that gutsy person got $570+ K for his gutsy $80k bet. Not a bad pay back, huh? LOL

Ron, you have to remember that everything is relative. I know nothing more than what is in your post, but 80k to some people would be the equivalent of $800 or even $80 to someone else. A lot of people out there have a LOT of money.
Regardless, that is is/was a good payback! good for them!--------------------------------------------------

Wasn't me brother. I had my oldest son (Party Monster) put 1,000 on him though. Came out pretty good for a poor man. If I had Rons money, I would have bet a million or two without batting a eyeLocation- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Did not expect horse racing from the "guts"'title under the eggtoberfest forum. Thought you were going to be cooking up some chitlin's in October. Lol.

That would have a long way to go to catch the best gambling story of the year - the people who bet Leicester City to win the Premier League at 5,000 - 1.

I had a client who basically invented the 'mall'. That guy would casually be wearing a different watch at every meeting. i collected watches at the time (not at all at his level), and knew what i was seeing. and although none of his watches had fancy jewelled bezels or any flashiness of the rolex stuff, they were all worth 80k, 100k each. one of them was a patek philippe tourbillion that was 250k or so at the time. stuff you couldn't just buy at a store. they would offer them to him first.
to the average viewer, they looked like a simple understated watch.
all the expense was on the interior
that's the kind of client we had for the last building i worked on (that was eventually built). all the condos were sold to dudes as rich or richer than him.
talk about having disposable income. man o man
