As I said, I think this is hilarious, but I bought them for decorations.

I might grind that piggies teeth right out to see if it will open a bottle of whiskey...

....The issue is that the pig has an overbite, when actually it probably needed to have an underbite. Take a file, and run it through the pig's mouth from the back, angled up.

    ....

    You're welcome.
    Thanks for the hack!!

i still think it was meant to open with the upper teeth, handheld.  I can't explain the ear holes :) BUT we clearly all want to mount this thing on a post somewhere!  I'll be filing away this weekend... sharpening that little f*ckers teeth.

I have 5 openers at home (2 of mine, 3 friends bought, 1 I already gave away).  I have implemented the @caliking pig hack on two of them already.  Worked a treat.  ;)  :plus_one:

My dumb ass didn't listen....tried it upside down. 1/2 bottle of ballast point stout absolutely exploded in my face and all over my egg cart and garage floor  :o  I guess I'll try to file down lower teeth as per above

I've modified 4 now, and the forth was the most important one...because it's the one I'm keeping.  (okay, I'm keeping two)

    A couple minutes of easy filing with the flat edge;

The pig's new home, next to the campfire pit.
(And that's my old gasser, relegated to the back yard where it get's fired up once or twice a year.)

    Works just fine!

(That's good beer by the way, if you haven't tried it.  It's actually not very spicy, just a touch on your tongue, but nothing to detract from an enjoyable crisp summer IPA.)

@KiterTodd Dead on!    I wish they had made the mouth opener portion a degree of angle to where this would be more usable when mounted.
@caliking Thx for the mod idea. I'll use my dremmel w/ a cutoff wheel.

@caliking Nice demo pic. However, I find my eyes averting toward the glorious pile of lump in the backdrop.

In Asia, specifically the far east, (southern China) an upside down pig is a symbol of bliss. Or not.

If SWMBO finds out exactly how much I have back there, I'll be sleeping in the garage for quite a while  I've got mostly RW in that pile, a lot of Fogo too. Some heritage OO and others in the mix too.

When you grind down that piggy's lower tooth with your Dremel, just shave off the back surface a bit, until the bottle cap can catch on it.
