Smoked Crab Legs, Good or Bad?

What are your thoughts/experience with smoked crab legs?  Is it worth trying or should I stick with the standard method?

    Take any road that you want my friend. The key is to remember when cooking crab legs is that you are not actually cooking them. They are precooked and you are merely warming them to 140 degrees to serve them. Most all crab legs, the lone exception that I can think of being blue crab legs, are precooked and flash frozen on the spot when caught. Or very shortly thereafter as a minimum. Thus, they lend themselves very well to several methods. Examples: Boiling, steaming, baking, broiling, grilling, smoking, poaching and pressure cooking. The sky is truly the limit. Just remember your are shooting for 140 degrees no matter what method you chose. A word to the wise, if you should ever attempt to pressure cook them, they are done the second the PC comes up to pressure. They take 0 seconds once pressure is hit. Simply pressure up and immediately depressurize and they are a done deal. So with all that said and aside, and to answer your question directly, you bet your boots you can smoke them. Let it rip my friend.

    I've smoked them before and I thought they tasted like crap.  Also, they dry out quick, which was probably a contributing factor.   Everyone has different tastes, try one or two and see if you like it.  I prefer to reheat with steam and put my flavor in the butter.
