Too early for bourbon?

the girlfriend is at work on this near perfect Saturday here in Nashville.  Scooped up a boneless pork butt from publix and got the egg rolling. Thought about an early afternoon toddy, but if the girlfriend comes home and I happen to be asleep with my finger in my belly button....most likely won't go well. So, in the name of self preservation I went with the Goose Island Lolita. A suitable alternative...

also so picked up some frozen beef bones for the mutts....they love those things!  Tubby the cat nappin in the sun to complete the picture.  Nice little Saturday for my crew...Happy Saturday Eggheads!

The solution i simple- duct tape one hand to the chair to keep it out of your belly button. Then duct tape the other hand to the bottle of bourbon... To keep it out of your belly button. Even if you do fall asleep, no finger in your belly button. You're welcome.
That's problem solving at its finest!

Early afternoon bourbon is not a bad thing. In fact, early morning bourbon is not bad either.

went to bourbon fest in Kentucky a few years back. It was fun and got to taste some high wine. Made my own personal makers mark bottle and got drunk and drank it.

  • Speaking of bourbon (which I love), thought I'd share that I recently took a gamble and tried a previously unknown brand, Fighting ****. I was turned off by the label (as well as by the name, which sounds like it could be a crude characterization bestowed upon someone who had consumed too much of said product), but the contents were great, IMO. A true kentucky straight bourbon aged 6 years and at 103 proof for what I understand is about $16 in the US (and of course, more than double, at $35 in Canada). I am in no way affiliated with the product.

We call it and wild turkey "The Kicking Chickens" FC is a great bourbon with deep roots in the bourbon industry.

Coming from a respectable Baptist home we always waited until after 2 PM to break out the bourbon. With the exception of college football that kicked off before noon. On the early day games every man was for himself. We did whatever and drank whatever our individual conscious would allow.
