Even if you're not into Pink Floyd, if Brit Floyd is in your vicinity, you gotta see them. 99% picture perfect, they are so talented, and do it right. Have seen many excellent performances, and this one is at the top. We were dead center stage, 6th row at the smaller Adler Theatre in Davenport, IA. So good to hear and see these songs live, goosebumps several times.

Found some nice porterhouses on sale, treated with DP Raising The Steaks, and a Mallmann inspired chimichurri of flat Italian parsley, roasted garlic, calabrian chiles, oregano, basil, Colavita EVOO, Alesio red wine vinegar, kosher, white pepper. Asparagus rafts with toothpicks, EVOO, kosher, white pepper, parm. Grilled before the steaks went on.

Was going to do lobster ravioli, but changed last minute and used Chef Marc Vetri's ricotta ravioli filling for the lasagna. Had a day old baguette and made some quick bread crumbs, added a nice texture.

Still prefer the bechamel, but it didn't suck washed down with some Pinot.

Sometimes, during business hours(1400) at the Buffalo Prairie, IL Bank, you gotta take the buffalo by the horns, and get a full 8 seconds while the tellers watch.

thanks for lookin'

Looks great. I mentioned before my wife is from your neck of the woods, she was telling me about all the concert she went to at Palmer auditorium back in the day. She lived about 3 blocks away off Brady Ave. and could walk to and from if need be!.

Awesome post. I haven't had the opportunity to check Brit Floyd out live yet but will when they come my way.
Steaks look awesome and I'd eat my shoe as long as I had some chimichurri.
Thanks for sharing!!

Had a feeling going in this was going to be good, but Brit Floyd far exceeded those expectations. You will enjoy this experience. Seeing them at Red Rocks as posted would be awesome. If they don't make it back to the Adler for some odd reason, it will be a road trip. And my boy will be with us as well. I want him to appreciate talented musicians and instruments, in a live outdoor environment.
I'm with ya on chimichurri, best way to serve a steak. So simple, fresh....everything works in harmony. And it stores nice in the fridge.BrandonQuad Cities

The acacia wood plates are a nice addition, easy on the edge of nonserrated steak knives. Mineral oil twice a year or so, and keep the soap to a minimum when cleaning. Guests are always impressed with the wood plates, and Shun. Baffling how many people are accustomed to less acute, dull, cheap, German steel.BrandonQuad Cities

I would hug my butcher if I saw tenderloins that big on porterhouses. Did the cover band play Fearless @Focker? Cheers-Proud resident of Missoula, MThttps://www.facebook.com/GrillingMontanahttp://grillingmontana.com

No Fearless this time. Pigs was the most pleasant surprise, Echoes too. Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, and Run Like Hell was their encore. Comfortably Numb my personal favorite Floyd song.
Only thing I missed, which they have played before, was Welcome To The Machine. Used to get high and play that tape (Wish You Were Here) in my '67 Stang all the time. Ah, the good ol' days. lolBrandonQuad Cities
