So im going to waste a bunch of money on a junket.  $40 gets you a flight from Jacksonville to Biloxi, 3 days at the Beau Rivage, and flight back. I am married, so no blow or hookers. Any Guys enjoy playing the tables?

If you want to get away for a steak night away from the tables I bet @SGH and I could treat you. I live just 6 miles or so from the Beau.  He's not far from me.  I don't gamble though.

Definitely get some Beignets at a Triplet-Day Pharmacy downtown for breakfast. Old school pharmacy place.

Stayed at the IP and Beau during a trip a few years back. Nice places. Still prefer the big gambling floors of Vegas.

Lived just oust off the Grand in Gulfport before the **** Katrina came thru. Lost a lot of good friends in that one!  Still love to go and visit!

The Beau has plenty of low limit table games ($10 and occasional $5). I've played plenty of craps there and a little blackjack. They also have a good poker room. Hard Rock is adjacent to the Beau. I've mostly been there for concerts, not much gambling.

If you get a chance, go to dinner at Mary Mahoney's (across the stree from the Beau). It's a great experience even though the food isn't quite what it once was.

So where did you find such a good deal?  I googled a bit but didn't find anything. I'm not familiar with the term "junket"- does that basically mean you have to gamble to receive an offer?

The Shed's food was pretty terrible the one time I ate there.  Great atmosphere though.

At one time, the food was outstanding. The quality has diminished greatly the past few years. However, their prices are still sky high. Let your conscious be your guide here.

Just hang with the Scotts and call it a trip, you'll have more fun and eat better.

I disagree. I go to lunch there once a month for a meeting and dinner relatively often. I have had some great meals of late. They had fallen off but last year or so it's been very good. It's extremely heavy though. Saucey/buttery. But good.

My favorites are the broiled crab claws and the stuffed snapper.

Its still good food, but it's nowhere near what it was in the 70's and 80's. It's not even close in my book.

Maybe you are just more accustomed to great food now than you were then. You often quote you have been smoking meat for 40+ years. Maybe your own cooking has just brought the relative field of expectation higher. You were a noob in the 70s and 80s. Not the heavy eating food god of a man I know.

@Thatgrimguy @SGH I agree the prices are high but I don't mind paying for good food/eating experiences. The sisters of the sea dish is heavy but it's great when they are on their game. It's probably been a year and a half since I've been there but my last experience wasn't quite as good as previous trips but that won't deter me from future visits.
