traveling with a large egg mounted off bumper

I just bought a Toyota motorhome and have been thinking I'd like to take my egg with me.ive figured out a way to mount it off to one side using an aftermarket rack attached to a receiver hitch. Has anyone done this? I'm wandering if the egg would survive the bumping around on the road?

Off the back? I would caution against this. That is a rough ride hanging off the back bumper. If you are set travelling with an egg, it should go over an axle or between your axles for the smoothest ride.
This question came up a year ago and I gave the same advice. I think it was @Thatgrimguy if I recall. I may be remembering incorrectly, but it seems to me he tried it and had some breakage. I'd go with one of those stainless egg look alike. Grim traveled with a UDS which seems like it would be well suited to travelling.
Edit - have fun with your new motor home!

I was talking with a coworker and she mentioned that a friend is starting a business that will make BGE carrier's for vehicles. I didn't push with questions as it was still on the down low. Like yours, my egg is/was very expensive (and delicate) .. it sits nicely in my backyard and never be moved. IMO, if you want a transportable egg, maybe you should look into a Mini-max.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.
