Cotronics

I was thinking of using this as my new gasket. Does anyone know where I can get enough for a Large. Don't need 100 foot roll.

I think @stlcharcoal sells them through his site.

I don't know anything about that gasket, I have the Rutland and it has proven to be more than satisfactory.
See @RRP for a Rutland if you are interested. Can't beat the price or the service.

It's a good gasket. And yes, it's sold several places online in less than 100' rolls. I personally optd to replace mine with a Rutland. Personal preference really.

  • I have the cotronics from @stlcharcoal. Different material than the Rutlands, it is my understanding neither Rutlands or Cotronics are approved for use near food, so make your choice. The Primo forum has a guy that sells the Cotronics version as well. Like @NPHuskerFL says comes down to what you are comfortable with. The Kevlar high temp gaskets are food approved and will last years, I have a coming up on four year old one that cooks pizza every week or so on my MBGE. The newer ones are even better from the folks I've spoken to. I don't like the graphite in the Rutland and I itch like hell when I change my wood stove gasket, personal choice.

What are the kevlar high temp gaskets?  What brand name are they sold under?

Nine years ago when my new large eggs gasket was melted in the first 40 days an Egger friend told me about Cotronics and I went with it, its still on that egg and working just fine, doing a clean burn once the high temp rtv let go and I just cleaned the top of the base and put new rtv and the old gasket back on. The newer Kevlar is a great gasket, the Rutland is also a great gasket and the Cotronics is a great gasket.
