You have totally out smash burgered me. Those look amazing. Are you cooking on high? Just how hot is the griddle? I think I underestimate the heat needed.XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

Fantastic looking food. Two of our favorite things - burgers and fries.

@Thatgrimguy yes. Cooking on high and give it time to get really hot. Last time I used my ir and it was just north of 500. Dry griddle with at least 20% fat beef. I flip with a razor scraper because you want it to stick and build the crust.
Its a quick cook once it's prepped. -
@theyolksonyou how do you smash? I use a concrete trowel, but I struggle with the meat sticking to my press.
I have tried spatulas, oil, hot, cold, etc. I have found smash and slight turn helps, but its not perfect.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

@Ozzie_Isaac I use my turner and an old grill spatula for extra leverage. Also use a slight turn and they get a little misshapen.
-
@Ozzie_Isaac I was under the impression you kept to your roots and smashed them between a floor jack and a station wagon fuel tank....

I think I must have been dreaming about this thread.
Just had smashburgers yesterday, but they sounded good for a late breakfast today. Home made buns, ground sirloin, home made thousand island.

I bet these would go great with some SMaSH beer! I'm about to brew a batch - being a noob with brewing, it's a good way to start.
