I had a pretty amazing weekend at the mothership last weekend. I was lucky enough to teach Texas BBQ to folks from all over the country. We had folks travel in from Maryland, NC, Vermont, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, etc. That was very cool to say the least.
The staff, volunteers and facilities at the Big Green Egg Culinary center are amazing. I can't say enough good things about Amanda and her team.
Enjoy some photos and can't wait to do this again!
All 13 Eggs were rolling.
BBQ in a cup at the Meat & Greet Friday night.
Trays of pig candy as part of the huge breakfast spread Saturday.
Wagyu brisket prep with @MeatChurch Holy Cow seasoning
Pork prep &money muscle demo with @MeatChurch Honey Hog seasoning.
Proud of my meat. Duh.
Dat bark!
Wagyu burnt ends. Tossed in Texas Pepper Jelly sauced and thrown back on for a couple hours to render into magical BBQ nuggets.
Some of the amazing volunteers + Chef Amanda. The "light" supper @Big_Green_Craig forced on me Saturday evening after my all day love affair with BBQ.

It was a bargain for sure. About 1/2 the price of a typical BBQ class. It was 2 days and loaded with free food and drink in addition to all the BBQ we cooked - 3 briskets, 8 pork butts, 12 slabs of ribs, 10 whole chickens and a gazillion thighs. Plus a swag bag w shirt, towel and 4 bottles of sauce and a discount in the store.

Looks like a good time! I still have not been to the mothership. I would love to see the new location. For those newer folks unaware, there are tons of Eggfests all over the country. This is by no means a complete list but here is a link for the ones listed on BGE's site. http://www.biggreenegg.com/events/eggfests/
