You know why you've never seen a picture of Yeti actually manufacturing their coolers?

I shoulda known that YETI was just subbing the job out, no wonder they are so expensive.

I agree with what they said in the article "holds ice for 24 hours" . Mine has never held ice more than a. Couple days. Unless it was inside. But that doesn't count

The only one that I know for sure that makes there own is Orion. Orion is owned by Jackson Kayak. They make their own kayaks as well as the Orion coolers in house. But you pay heavily for them. Even more than Yeti.

So YETI and RTIC are the same kind of thing. Just marketing firms that sub out all their manufacturing. :)

Seems like a pretty credible source to have make them.

Brother Heavy, there are not many manufactures set up to do high temp injection molding in the USA. Yeti is certainly not one of them. I tried explaining this to the Yeti crowd months ago. But they refuse to listen. One may ask themselves "how does SGH know anything about injection molding then?". I work for a small outfit that you may or may not have heard off. Exxon/Mobil. We use injection molding (polypropylene) to coat our subsea pipelines. So in this arena, I'm a tad more in the know than the average Yeti diehard.
See the green in the pic. That is high temp, high pressure injected polypropylene that we use to cover subsea welds.

Dutchland is a great company, I'm proud to have them as a neighbor.  My wife worked there back in college making oil drain pans and lawn mower gas tanks.

Not sure if they still do, but they used to make Ronald McDonald statues, it was pretty freaking walking in there one night and seeing about 50 Ronalds in the dark as I came around a corner.

They all sub but Yeti is subbing out to a company that got product of the year awards for rotomolding and well RTIC has some company in China somewhere doing it. Seems like a little bit of a difference to me.

Many of YETI's coolers are made in the Philippines.

Probably from other award winning companies.

Yes and SRF and Walmart briskest are both beef so they must be the same.
A lot of genetic variation among living creatures and the conditions in which they are raised.

Probably almost zero difference between the chemical compounds each manufacturer uses for the petroleum based plastic shells and foam in their coolers.

You are a intelligent man brother Heavy. For clarity, there are only 10 manufactures world wide of ready to use "as is" injection grade pellets. 9 of them are overseas. The lone American company is in Houston, TX. There name eludes me at the moment though...... Oh, Exxon/Mobil Chemical Division.
