A good night for stew
SWMBO mixed up the stew for this evening - I just dumped it in the Dutch oven and cooked it. I'm beginning to prefer my camp ovens on the egg over a conventional CI pot. The platesetter seems to hold it just fine.
I didn't get a pick before the family dug in!
The spoon is clean! I promise
I can get the recipe if anyone wants it.

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Here's the recipe:
2 lbs chuck cut in 1" cubes
1 onion quartered
4 carrots sliced
4 celery stalks sliced
1/2 green pepper sliced
1/4 cup quick cooking tapioca
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
2 cups chopped mushrooms
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 can (1lb, 12 oz) tomatoes undrained
3/4 cup dry red wine
potatoes cubed (doesn't say how many, use judgement)
Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven. Cook @300 degrees for 4 hours or moreColeman, Texas

That is one yummy looking bowl of comfort food. I started using tapioca for thickening as well. Love that shine!

Fine looking grub brother. Ironically I'm making a beef stew tomorrow myself. Going to use the electric pressure cooker though due to time constraints and laziness. Laziness more so than time constraints Again, great looking grub and thanks for sharing the recipe.

I just started a beef stew a few minutes ago. It's in the 40's today for the first time this year. Seemed like the opportune time to make one. I'm doing mine in the EPC though.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

@SGH Yeah, all y'all talking about pressure cookers is making me want one. Actually my wife loves it; I just keep an updated wish list on Amazon and she never has to worry about what to get me.
Stew is definitely some good comfort food - along with good cornbread. If I'm feeling in the mood I'll do fried corn bread.Coleman, Texas
