Consumer Drones (for those of you who might own one)........ what do really use them for?

I would think there may be a use for one of these if you had a deer lease in South Texas. Just a thought.

I have seen someone with a remote release rather than a friction one, but I couldn't find anything online last night.....

I work on power lines, and when trees come down in a right of way off the road, it's time consuming and expensive to patrol it on foot.  I've almost convinced the company I contract for to pay for a really nice one to cut back on the non productive time.

I could see that being entertaining, actually.   And if you don't own one, it's probably just a nuisance, I get that.  But...

...they're so friggin' fun to fly!  You have this little precision robot in the sky that goes anywhere you send it, accurately, and returns home at the push of a button.  From a technology stand point, it's pretty fun.  It's like a remote control car for adults.  When you want to stop flying it to talk to someone, you just take your hands off the sticks and it sits in the sky patiently waiting for your orders.

My buddy restores sea grass beds.  It's a valuable tool to get a unique view of damage (prop scars), growth, deterioration and such...

My dog goes f*&king berzerk when I fly it.  Kind of an issue as I'd like to go for long hikes with her and fly the thing from overlooks.  I guess she's going to have to get over it...
