XL BGE HELP!!!

Just finished up my 72x32x32 table for my XL egg. I'm needing ideas on how I need to go about keeping the bottom heat off the wood and preventing a possible fire. Should I got with one 24 inch paver or four 12 inch pavers spaced out or what do you guys recommend? Any other patterns or combinations I should consider?

You can always go buy some granite tile to set the nest on for an extra layer of protection. Cost is about $5 a tile at Home Depot.

I assumed everyone would suggest some type of brick paver but I can see I was mistaken! Plus I just remembered I have 30$ worth of reward points from where I purchased the egg that expires at the end of this month. Would I still need to put a paver under the table nest or will I be good with just the nest?

I used a 24x24 paver on mine works just fine.

Look at smokewaare table best. A bit more expensive than the BGE onesz but they are built solid as a rock

I bought a wooden out door end table, and a 24x24 ceramic tile for my MM at Lowes. It sits in a handler, and there has been zero problems."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

BGE table nest on top of any surface will prevent any problems. It will prevent heat issues and let air circulate under ceramic egg!

I have a large, and got 2 cheap 18 inch ceramic tiles, separated them with bricks, then put the egg on its little feet on top of the upper tile. It's off the table, has a couple of air gaps and works like a charm. It also raises it to a more comfortable height for meLagrange, GA LBGE

I have a table nest for my xl, my concern would be the air gap from the table top to the edge of the egg itself. I cut four oak blocks 3"x3" and stained them to match my table and put my.nest on them raising the egg 3/4" giving me. More air between the egg and table top.I was worried about the heat affecting the finish of the table top.

When I put my Large in a table, I used concrete pavers and the original green ceramic feet on the pavers.

I went with the table nest! Cost me $14 and some odd cents Thanks guys!

Wise move. Any pavers or stone will transfer heat.

Fwiw, I feel the added paver is counter productive.

Table? We don't need no stinking table. I got mine right up next to the propane tank for my trailer home."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
