OT free kitchenaid stand mixer score

So we went to the in-laws over Christmas break. My mother inlaw over heard me talking about my next kitchen gadget was gonna be a stand mixer. She acted super surprised I didn't have one already. Told her I wanted a dark gray one. She said she had a extra one I could have but it was blue. It's not just blue it's purple/blue. As soon as I make up my mind exactly what color I want . I'm tearing it apart to paint it. It's not the big one I planned on buying but I'm more than happy with it. Just need to buy a the screw to hold the accessories cap on. Maybe I'll start looking for a deal on a meat grinder attachment.

Nice score there man. Be careful about spending too much on the grinder attachment, you can get a dedicated grinder for about a Benjamin.They/Them

@WeberWho? are you around? Clicking on your user name gets me "user not found"
Wondering if this is the correct grease for the mixer that you recommended.
If anyone else followed his rebuild advice and could let me know I'd appreciate it.

great score! As for the grinder I got mine as a freebie which was a promotion at the time. It serves my purposes fine, but if you plan and grinding up deer or two every year I'd save the $50 it will cost you and get a dedicated single purpose HD meat grinder.

@blasting I think my name has something to do with the "user not found". I should email and see if I can get something figured out. If someone tries to contact me "@" it won't show up under my notifications. I'm guessing it has something to do with the question mark in my username. I did run across your posting when reading this thread.
The only difference I believe is that the synthetic grease I use is food safe. Here is the link below on what the cartridge looks like. I've bought it off on Amazon in the past

Thanks @WeberWho? Sure am glad to here you didn't go the way of the buffalo. I will get the grease you recommended. Mine is a Hobart I've discovered, and I want to keep it running tip top. Thanks again.Phoenix

@blasting Nice mixer you have. Definitely worth the time and your mixer will thank you in the end. Let us know how it goes

Nice ... for free. I am not a fan of the tilt heads though. But for free still a nice score. I am going to need to buy the Missus a new one soon as the one we have is > 25 yrs old. Even after cleaning and re-greasing it still does not seem to run as fast on high. And it does seem to get hotter when running on high for 15 minutes or so. (Necessary for making homemade marshmallows - very YUMMY!!!)

Rubber Maid makes a plastic bowl cover. They come in a 2 pack at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20. I have several attachments but I use those almost every time I use my mixer. I suggest you invest in a set. They especially help when I make multiple batches of cookies or pizza doughs. No need to wash the bowl, just take out the cover and replace it with another.XL BGE & 36" Blackstone
