Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener
SWMBO got me one for Christmas. Didn't even ask for it but glad she got it as my honing steel just isn't cutting it. Any of you have this unit and have any issues. Hoping the learn lessons before learning hard way. Haha. Merry Christmas

Love mine. I added the blade grinding attachment and that is my go to for all my life sharpening. I think you're going to love it too.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

A good friend has the ken onion. His only comment is to ALWAYS follow. The directions exactly. Something about drawing the knife all the way across.

She said the KO version was sold out. Now they both are. I used it to sharpen 12 knives today. It works. WellColumbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

We have really enjoyed our ken onion and it has made a huge difference in the sharpness and condition of our blades. I think some guys would say it's heresy to sharpen knives this way but all I can say is that it has been much better for me. I never could get the results I was after with a stone. If this is wrong, I don't wanna be rightKeepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

I've got the one you just got. I love it but hear that for the harder steel knives you need the adjustable speed to be able to achieve a nice burr. Glad all my knives aren't that hard. I got the Chef's Choice. Ran a boning knife through it when I was de-boning a turkey and it seemed to do well.

What are the major differences between the KO model and the regular work sharp? Also for those with one or the other, how often do you have to replace the belts?

@The Cen-Tex Smoker thanks I have been looking at these for awhile and since I got a Benjamin as a gift I may buy this.

I got the KO WS on Cen Tex's recommendation. It works great, can sharpen cheap crappy knives scary sharp. They don't keep their edge, but you can always sharpen them again. Which reminds me, I need to sharpen my knives next week while I have some time off.They/Them

I need to look in to this and figure something out for my setup. I deboned turkey legs and prepped the turkey crown al la Chef Steps for Christmas and it sucked using my pos dull knife.L, S, MM, Mini

Update: I was a little bit bummed the KO version was sold out but very happy with the regular version. For my needs the standard version gets the knives plenty sharp. I also sharpened some outdoor serrated knives and so far so good. I am a little skeptical that the green belt will grind outdoor yards tools, shovels, lawnmower blades, etc but that will be next test.Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

I've done my outdoor tools including my lawnmower blade. My belt isn't green though. Anyway, I think you will find it works good on those other items too.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html
