Merry Christmas everybody! I have noticed that when the BBQ shows were airing, all the pros were wearing black rubber or latex gloves when handling meat. Anyone know if those gloves offer a better grip than regular latex or rubber? What brand or name are they?

Nitrile. Nothing special. I buy them buy the cases at work. Blue or black. No difference.
The black look cool though. Look for insulated gloves if you need help with heat. I like welding gloves myself. Cheap and hold up nicely.-FATC1TY

I'm looking for gloves that will help when gripping raw meat for trimming. I figured since I keep seeing those black ones they must offer something that regular first aid type gloves do not.Atlanta GA.

Get the powder free ones. There are different thickness so don't buy the really cheap thin ones or they tear on you. Mine are blue and work great. Another friend has black and they work great. I've noticed no difference other than you can see the spices collecting on the black gloves. Another friend has the really cheap blue ones and he tears a couple of them just putting them on. He hates them and hopes they run out soon.Aledo, Texas

I just buy the blue power free exam gloves from Sam's. Only have torn one once and that was actually due to nicking myself and then stressing the glove.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time!

Somewhat of a trade off because they are not quite as dexterous. These are also more heat resistant so great for pulling pork. They sell these as bbq gloves in other brands but they are twice the price.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I use cheap exam gloves for handing raw meat (especially rubbing). I use heavy rubber/vinyl gloves similar to @SmokeyPitt for handling hot meat and pulling pork. Agree that you don't need a BBQ brand. Head to a hardware store.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.

The black ones just look cool. Rod Grey has custom colored one made up for him on the circuit. It's just bling.

I've seen Costco brand ones before. My husband buys Black Mamba brand black nitrile gloves off Amazon. Honestly I think he uses it more to keep his hands clean than for the grip.XL BGE & 36" Blackstone
