At least he is good at something ;)

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

Nope. Too busy. Gave up buying the season. Boys' football games are later in the day now and i won't miss those

When our youngest was a ten year old, he was recruited by a private high school . Coach still actually comes to his games and watches from the endzone.  He's 13. Older boy is as good, maybe better (cut throat) a natural but buried behind juniors and seniors at corner back position

His HS coach moved him up to varisty as a freshman, but then the coach retired. Total 'Rudy' scenario. Hahaha

Child competitive sports-a time and financial vortex.  But a great ride while it is happening.  Travel teams (soccer here) are quite the time and $$ commitment.  As long as the child is the one who continues with the desire and is good with the commitment along with with the regimen then all okay.
Edit: Apologize for the OT take.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

    Yep Lou. Agree 100%

i never coach the boys (except toss the ball around). I don't offer "advice" to the coach. We support the kids whether it's for good or bad. Put a hamd on their shoulder those years each of them never seemed to get any playing time. But never push

i tell them that any success is theirs, and that i'm happy as long as they are happy. They didn't inherit any skillz from me. And so i take no credit

plus, we have seen some crazy parents, and have no desire to be 'those people'.

i'm an obnoxious bastard. But only on a barbecue forum (mostly)
