Mini max deal?

So I was out shopping yesterday and stopped in at one of he local egg dealers to see if they had any wicked good as they told me they were going to start carrying it. Long story short, I have been wanting to get a MM for the weeknight cooks, it would save time compared to firing up the XL. Well they have two left that they are trying to unload and are telling me what an incredible deal it is. They are selling it with the platesetter and the carrier for $575. Is his a "incredible deal" as they have said it is?

It's a good deal, but not incredible. I think that package usually goes for $600. I assume you're in (or near) South Carolina, so there shouldn't be a lot of extra cost related to distribution, either.

If anyone thinks, for one minute, the cost of the BGE, in any size, at whatever price, is either a bargain or not, you have no clue on the real cost of owning an Egg. The cost is nothing, it is everything you do afterwards, that empties your account, and it does not matter whether it is your first or fifth, the big money being spent follows.

It is a fair deal, I paid $494 for mine without the platesetter. You will save lots of money by using the MM opposed to the XL for smaller weeknight cooks though._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

My local dealer is selling them for 499 right now
-
I picked up mine for $500 a few weeks ago at an eggfest where everyone cooked on a MM. It was used once but this is the third egg I've bought from an egg fest.
-
$498 every day at Roswell hardware. Think I paid another $40-$50 for the platesetter can't remember. I got mine 5 minutes after @JRWhitee

BGE has a very strange pricing policy. A large looks like a steal for around $700 compared to $500 for a mini-max. Especially when the XXL is close to $4000! A local spa company had the large BGE, rolling nest, tools, and plate-setter for $769 I believe.

What is the exact name of the Roswell hardware store so that I can google directions? Is it an Ace Hardware?Morristown TN, LBGE and Mini-Max.

That is $100 less than I can purchase in my area and I am in Duluth GA about every 6 weeks. Thanks for the info.Morristown TN, LBGE and Mini-Max.

The store has a lot of cool BGE stuff and also stocks all the yeti stuff. Good place to drop some cash. They have more BGE stuff than headquarters.MotownVol said:That is $100 less than I can purchase in my area and I am in Duluth GA about every 6 weeks. Thanks for the info. -
I paid $800 with nest and smokeware OTD for my medium. No idea if that was good or bad, but I love it and my dealer has always treated me right.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Looks like I'll have to make some time to go to Roswell Hardware. I'm am wanting a MM so bad.

Um...better check again on retail for the XXL. When I got mine they made me get the plate setter, nest, and handler. I was going to anyways but there was not a option not to buy them.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. BGE, 1 MINI BGE, 1 Peoria custom cooker Meat Monster.Clinton, Iowa -

I don't know what was included, but the local Ace had a $4000 price tag on a XXL. My point remains the pricing is very strange. The large seems to be a better value, though I've never priced an XL. -
