How long have you had your egg? It has a 5 year limited warranty on the fire grate. I had mine replaced under warranty.

@WeberWho? Was yours cracked all the way through before it was warrantied? Mine is cracked halfway through but it still is very solid. Want it get mine replaced under warranty as well. 

I still use my cracked fire grate. My 5 year warranty was coming up and wanted to make sure I had it covered under warranty before it was too late. I'll take a pic when I get home for you

My Egg is almost 2 years old and will probably put in a warranty claim, but may get the KAB as well.  I think it would help a lot with getting the XL up to temp faster.

I take issue with this only because the Adjustable Rig is ranked 8th and called 
"Adjustable Rib"...lol

Last time I talked to them they did recommend, on the XL, placing the basket on top the BGE grate and the website said the same. But users on here seem to have no issue using only the basket.
