Honestly, skip it. Get yourself a Dexter. I've had two electric knives, both work ok till they broke. The Dexter carver is so much better, and cheaper.Johns Creek, GA - LBGE and a some stuff

I have two that I use for cleaning Black Crappies, cuts through the rib bones and then skins them like butter. Bought them used at thrift stores and both are still working very well after two years. I have been cleaning fish with a regular old filet knife for 50 years and swore I would never us an electric knife for cleaning fish.......... but after cleaning my first Black Crappie catch I couldn't get one fast enough!
I'm only hungry when I'm awake!

I have an ancient GE that gets hauled out for Thanksgiving turkey. That being said, I prefer a traditional carving knife for everyday use.IL

I've had a bunch and so far this one has been my favorite.

Handle is very comfortable for long periods of time. I agree that a plain ole carving knife is best, but when youre catering 30 racks of ribs or 6 briskets you'll be glad youre slicing with a little power behind you.Shucker

I have had one of those for years. My wife had gone to BBB one Oct (probably 10+ yrs ago now) and saw 2 of these had a price tag of $2.19. Yep, it had a price tag on it so they had to sell it for that price. They were supposed to be on sale for $21.99. We have one and gave the other to our daughter as a Christmas gift. -

After a bit of research, and going through many $20 knives, I decided on this one. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/waring-wek200-cordless-rechargeable-lithium-ion-electric-knife-set/929WEK200.htmlAtlanta GA.

My last electric knife was eons ago and I burnt it up! I was using it to cut 12 x 12 x 2 pieces of dense blue styrofoam installation board. Why? they make very convenience "jug fishing" floats which were still legal here! Easy to carry and easy to store!

Electric knives will make your job a little easier. Electric knives are battery-operated and coded. There are the best quality electric knives available market.

I agree on a few good Dexter's and a good Wusthof knife for most everything you need. I have an electric knife, but it never gets used. Maybe for brisket, but I have a nice Dexter serrated bread knife that cuts through large cuts like butter. That's what I use. I do have a Rapala electric fillet knife that I bought to use for large redfish and sheepshead. But, I recently bought a nice serrated fillet knife for cutting down the side plate and running along the fins, and I now use that to get started and then switch to the normal fillet knife to finish. An electric knife is a pain in the butt to deal with and not worth the trouble, in my opinion.Athens, GA

How about an electric spoon?Developed by scientists at New York University Abu Dhabi, the spoon uses electrodes that zap your tongue to create the sensation of taste. By varying the properties of the shock, the utensil can simulate saltiness, sourness, and bitterness with varying degrees of success
