OT: cookbook for stews/soups/etc?
I am looking for a new cookbook for winter that focuses on dutch oven type cooks . . hearty stews with greens, etc etc. Thinking about Ruhlman's book called "how to braise" but wanted to see if you all had suggestions - thanks!

it really doesnt take a whole book for braising, or soup, or stews. most are inexpensive until you step up into the seafood chowders. google anne barilles braised lamb shank recipe for a basic braise and you can braise anything, heres two dishes, a brasciole and a leprechaun fudging her recipe

Are you looking for a book on stews/soups or one on braising? For stews/soups I would suggest:
Stews, Bogs, And Burgoos: Recipes from the Great American Stewpot. by James Villas
Its an oldie, but a goodie. Being older is is available at good prices (under $10).
