@Spaightlabs I have full coverage with Allstate (soon to be USAA) on my car.  However, I elected to have a high deductible ($1000) to keep cost down.  New Orleans has high insurance rates and it doesn't help that it's an expensive sports car.  My truck and motorcycles just have liability.

holding at 2.20 here, dont think ill ever see it drop below 2
Neither will I, some idiot and/or group of idiots raised the gas taxes in my state.  I wouldn't be surprised if 50% of what I pay at the pump goes straight to government waste.

Just double check to make sure you don't have a lower comprehensive deductible or even lower sub-deductible for glass?  That isn't uncommon.

In FL, there is 0 dollar deductible on glass, heck, they will even pay you 100 bucks to replace it. Win win

My insurance agent is my fiend and neighbor.  We both are car nuts and we talked about all this.  Pits, chips and cracks are fixed free if they're fixable, but otherwise the windshield falls into the deductible category.  Usually they're not that expensive - my truck was $170.  Nothing's cheap on a Porsche.

Well, actually, spending money on the military is one of the few things our constitution says is something our Federal government is supposed to do.

Oh.  So then it's OK to waste money on that.  Thanks, I understand now.

In my neck of the woods in GWN, it varies from CAD 0.95 to 1.05 a litre ... that averages about USD 2.85 a gallon  =)

@buzd504 I'm slow, care to elaborate please?
edit: oh, if you meant how I arrived at 2.85 ...
    1 US gallon = 3.78 litres, 1 CAD is worth 0.75 US, at average of 1 CAD a litre we have 3.78 x .75 = about USD 2.85 a gallon.

So jealous looking at all of these gas prices outside of good old California. As I was filling my wife's car this week (Premium, Costco, $2.99/gal) I was looking at the taxes posted on the side of the fuel pump.

After they did their first round of Cap n Trade, prices fluctuated so much nobody was really sure how much that raised the price of gas (rumored to be about 10 cents/gallon), but...

    Fed Tax: 18.9/gal
    State tax: 39.5/gal (+ Cap n Trade)
    County sales tax: 8%

No wonder our prices are so high (yet they still say they're not making enough money and want to start charging us per mile we drive)....

We're already around a dollar per gallon higher than any of the other Contiguous States. Wonder how bad it will be in the future as our Gov turns us on to "Greener" fuels?

    I love my State.......
California doesn't even have the highest combined gas taxes of the lower 48 states. That honor belongs to Pennsylvania.

Yep, I can drive 1 hour east and get gas for $0.30/gallon less than here, and it's full service because NJ doesn't trust anyone except highly trained gas station employees to pump gas.

I guess you all live in crappy states if your gas taxes don't take care of your roads. Hooray, land of pleasant living!

I can instantly tell when I enter Maryland. The roads are smooth, speed limits are lower, and speeding cameras are everywhere.

Only around schools(cameras). DC is a different animal with that. They enjoy collecting the "commuting tax".

@Zmokin The other item involves "welfare"  Article 1 Section 8 Clause 1

Taken out of context, as was your comment, as this is troll-Friday.

nola, i pay the gas taxes, pay 6 tolls each weekend, the feds funded road repair, and we have the worst pot hole roads still open since last winter around and  several bridges ready to cave in,  nobody fixes the roads. we did get that nice sign though =)

bad roads are meant to drive the economy - more car repairs and more people buying trucks to survive the bad roads which in turn leads to selling more gas.  fixing the roads decreases tax revenue.
    Love you bro!
