Found this beauty on Craigslist for $250 (Berkel X13E). Took a lot of elbow grease, and some actual grease, to clean her up but she is ready to slice.  Now I just need to find something to slice...

I just need to find a sharpener. The one that originally came with it was lost. Buying as a replacement part will cost me more than what I paid for the actual slicer.

Helluva deal man.  Mine didn't come with one either, but came with an extra knife.  Most of the used slicers with attached sharpeners, the blades are toast from operator error oversharpening.  I took mine to a professional sharpener, he put a crazy sharp new edge on them, and I maintain by hand with chosera stones.  He only charged me $12 for both.

@Focker thanks for the tip, I will do that.  I'll also keep searching ebay and craigslist to see if a sharpener pops up.

@DoubleEgger Good question! This thing weighs 90 lbs and is 24x29, not exactly a kitchen counter item (or even under the counter for that matter). I'll probably keep it well covered in my shop between uses.

Good question, I store my goodies in cupboards and steel carts in the basement and dining room

Nice find.  I am wanting a slicer, especially now that I have some prime rib sitting the fridge that would make some great sandwiches.
