So this weekend I am helping my son move his wife's belongings from her home in Ottawa to their new apartment in Boston. We decided to make a quick side trip to Schwartz's for a Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich for each of us and a Poutine to split. Sadly we were on a tight schedule and didn't have time to sit in the restaurant and enjoy the brusque waitresses so we availed ourselves of the take out counter. Found a parking spot a few blocks away and wolfed everything down.

Amazing. Sadly I didn't think to take a photo, but if you're passing through Montreal, definitely give Schwartz's a try, you won't be disappointed.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!  With a title like that pictures are required.

I've just started making poutine again this year, now that I found cheese curds at my local Costco.  Funny, spell check doesn't recognize poutine as a word.

I can take a photo of the jar of beef seasoning that I bought if that will appease you. I plan on trying my hand at MSM in the future.

I would like to see the MSM sandwich when you make it.  Poutine has a cult following on the web.  Many websites dedicated to pics, I could look at them for hours.

  • Best French Fry seasoning there is, their beef and chicken rub is not too shabby either. I do miss Schwartz's - when I lived in Brockville, flew out of Dorval rather than Uplands every chance I got just so I could hit the deli on the way home. Every Habs game included the Bar - B -Barn or the deli....
