Ruebens
Can't get a good rueben here so made my own. OT because no egging last night.
Warmed the corned beef and a little turkey in broth.
Sautéed the kraut with butter on the griddle
3 pieces of swiss
Griddled till toasty.
Really, really good

Well, maybe I'm not nuts after all! My Reubens are close to that except I spread mayo on one side of the seedless rye bread and butter on the other. Makes the bread super tasty. Seems back here any place you buy a Reuben they smother it in thousand island salad dressing! I mean EVERYWHERE!

Looks good, although Reubens do need Russian dressing.
Love that I have a great reuben spot within 10 minutes from the house, and the best bagels in the mid-Atlantic within 5 minutes.LBGE

When ordering a Ruben I say extra dressing. The only place around here that makes Ruben is Schlotzsky's. And I have them make it on their sourdough because I like it so much.2-XLs ,MM,blackstone,Ooni koda 16,R&V works 8.5 gallon fryer,express smoker and 40" smoking cajun

A Reuben is one of my favorite things!
I've never made them myself as I am fortunate to have a choice of a few excellent delis in my town.

My parents church (old german church) makes sauerkraut for their annual fundraiser. Raw packed; it's the best kraut ever. Sauteed kraut in butter is good... sauteed raw packed kraut in pork fat is out of this world. Talk about good Ruebens.

Looks outstanding. A requirement of a good rueben is it has to be messy it is so loaded down. That one definitely qualifies.

In all my years, I've never sauteed sauerkraut in butter. It made a HUGE difference. Hit the spot for sure, great sandwich. I've got brisket chili on for dinner - I may need someone to call 911.
