I preface my opinions, usually, with "My opinion...".

When I talk about the effect gravity has on drunk people, or that drunk people have on blog posting, I'm just assuming these are known universal truths.

In the 70's I remember hearing we were about to enter another ice age.
I got in trouble in the 7th grade, in the early 80's, when our science teacher was telling our class about an article he had read that described the new ice age.

We were in middle Georgia, and he was describing heavy snowfall in June and July and freezing temps year around. My classmates were freaking out and on the verge of tears.

I finally spoke up and told them they were crazy to believe that crap. My teacher was furious with me and took it personal. I didn't care. I knew it was crap.

So the super smart scientists across the country were wrong in the 70's?  But now the super duper smart scientists are right?

    Pretty funny stuff.

This pretty much sums up the scientist argument.

Although it is way hot in NEFL for November wouldn't it be agreeable that it comes and goes in cycles. For instance it's been close to a decade since our area was hit with a named storm. Leading experts to "guesstimate" we're due within a year or so. That's not necessarily science. That's looking at a historical trend of patterns.

I do not.  But when I do, I say "I guess".   They say vitamin E helps cognitive development, by the way.

Does this mean my lump consumption will diminish?  People, science is what counts. Vet the information, discount mainstream media in favor of peer reviewed science and be dispassionate.  C'mon!

All I know is that Mr. Obama has never skewed the truth, not a smidgen. Mrs. Clinton has never ordered a server wiped. The Clinton Family Foundation has always paid out 95% of their donations to the needy charities they have always sponsored. John Kerry served in Viet Nam & never stood next to Jane Fonda at an anti war rally. Bernie is not a socialist. Sadam's WMD's were never moved to Syria. The Affordable Care Act is working & saving everyone money, even the rich 1% bastards. The Fed will never raise interest rates until after the next election.  It's Bush's fault, even after 7 years.

The US gubermint spends nearly 50$ BILLION annually in various supports for the oil industry.   If SOLAR were required to be 'profitable', they'd all be out of business.   Or mostly, anyway.   Chinese made Panels are also heavily subsidized.
    So much for 'private industry'.

    http://priceofoil.org/fossil-fuel-subsidies/

World expenditures for such subsidies are nearly 1,000Billion, but vary from year to year.

Climate change IS real.  The ONLY thing left to debate about is HOW MUCH man contributes to the Phenom.

Nobody has yet mentioned the REAL drive behind this.   POPULATION and Standard of Living.
Humanity is heading for a wall.  At some point, a limit will be reached which may be Water.   Or pollution.   Or oil running out.   Or food.  or any of another half dozen reasons / causes.

The tradeoff is simple.   Smaller numbers of people can live very well for a LONG time in harmony with the planet.   Large numbers, like the 7BILLION persons we are now dealing with Can't live well AND for the long term.   Certain non-renewable resources simple won't be available.   likewise, if you say to use something ELSE, the new material MAY exist but will almost always be MORE expensive and involve another limit.

Look up Exponential Growth.   For example, Population growing at 2% annually will DOUBLE in 36 years.   Simple math.
Take the use of some resource.  Chrome, for example.  Used in MANY steel Alloys and other uses.  If you have only SO MUCH left, (but DO find more at some finite rate) you have only so long before exhaustion of that resource.  Add back such as recovery, reclaim and other materials and it only EXTENDS the time to running out.

    Believe the Georgia Guidestones.

There hasn't been one shred of proof other than computer models that man made global warming is occurring.

Science doesn't deal with proof, but rather data.  As to what the data says regarding  measurements of mean global temperature.... yeah.

Except everyone knows they have been manipulating "the data" for decades.  The Earth has been known to go through warming and cooling cycles and we are using "data" for 130 years to say we are going to burn up. According to the "science" community, the Earth is millions of years old, so we take "data" the width of a pinhead on a line thousands of miles long to say the sky is falling.   Sheeessh!!!

And now we are importing "greenhouse" gasses from India and China and forcing more restrictions on already overburdened businesses and industry out west.
Since all the government data sets have been molested, can we at least see your data sets with substantiation for your claims? It is very easy to scoff off things people have spent millions of man hours working off with a swipe of the keyboard.

WUT?!  ALL GUBERNMENT DATA SETS MOLESTED!!!!  WHEN DID THIS BREAK?   I guess all the scientific data from the hundred plus countries and universities and databases collating this data got messed up too!!!!  WOW, THAT'S DEVASTATING.

I'm going to have to hit the news guys, nothing like this has EVER happened!!!

    More "off topic"
What happened to the anti gun lobby in Virginia? Ex NYC Mayor Bloomberg dumped $2 million in that effort. The voters decided. The second amendment prevailed.

Let me tie that into the topic du jour for you.  Guns lower our carbon emissions very well here in the United States.  I advocate everyone have a gun.
