Poultry saddles?

With LF breeds like orpingtons - I have 4 at present do I need a poultry saddle - he is clearly treading the 1 & I don't wan't the females damaged, has anyone used them?

    If you were asking how to prep or cook those birds, I could certainly help in that arena. But to the question at hand, I'm hoping that someone can help.

     I used them briefly.  Funny when you first put them on the bird - they go crazy trying to get it off, then they settle down.  I forget what I'd did, but I put something on it that bothered the rooster, and that broke him of the habit of pecking the hens over the winter. I also clipped the spurs on the rooster which helped.  

    If if you love your rooster, give the saddle a try.
