The same thing happened a couple years back. They didn't have them for several months then they showed up again.

On a positive note the cumming store had boneless beef short ribs but the pieces were like 5 times bigger than normal and they were $4 something a pound versus $6.99. Gonna get some to grind up for burgers.

I was up there last weekend and didn't see any, though I didn't know they even carried them.  I get mine from Dekalb Farmer's mkt @ $7.99 lb.

I did see prime top sirloin cap when I was up there last weekend though...

I liked the Costco price!  I'm planning on going to Ferguson's as my buddy brags it up.  I normally go to Wilkes on PIB.  Real nice folks there.

Ok that's it. I am now ready to fire off a very tersely worded email about this to someone at Costco. I can't begin to share my total displeasure at this point.

I would email them, they might have a delay, shortage, etc and it could be temporary.

Not just Cumming Costco. Pretty sure it's all the local stores as Perimeter and Norcross discontinued as well. Sons a bitches.

That is 100% ****.  When I asked the butcher there he said the distributor was unreliable.  Sounds like as unreliable as their excuses.

That's been my experience with both Costco and Sam's. They get you used to using a product and they up and quit carrying it.

That's why restaurants don't rely on them. A restaurant needs to be able to count on the same product being consistently available.

This is what I was talking my about that cumming Costco is carrying now. It wasn't out the other day when I went but I saw it tonight and asked the butcher and he said just ask for a cryo of short ribs. It's $4.59 a lb this way versus $6.99 and it's not trimmed. I am grinding it for burgers so it's even better.

I've been extremely bummed since Costco quit carrying tri. It was the only reliable place I could find it in my area. Fortunately this week I found out Sprouts carries it.....sometimes.

Haven't been to the DeKalb Farmers Mkt in quite a while but will have to check it out.  Thanks for the heads up.

Update. I filled up at Publix on Hyw 9 and 400 (exit 14 in Cumming, GA). According to Rita who works in the meat dept, they are over stocked.  Price is normally $8.49 but you can get the $7.69 price until they run out.  Ask for it if you don't see any out in the display.  Kroger wanted $8.99 per pound.  No thanks.

@danv23 Leonard's farmers market on 9 just north of 14 carried tri tip last time I was in there. Also carries packers and a couple other cuts. Did you buy all those in your pic? Thats a crap load of tri tip.

Dam straight.  Family loves them, reverse seared of course.  I will food saver them and in the freezer they go.  Do you remember the price at Leonard's? I'm a big fan of their Brasstown Beef but haven't been there in a while.
