Juicy Bacon Lucy
Tasted great but wasn't "juicy"! Used the English Cheddar I had on hand, grated it and mixed it in with some home made bacon bits. Avocado-mayo, jalapeño-dill pickle relish and sautéed onions. Really tasty, just not the gooey I was hoping for. Next time I'll stick with a better melting cheese. What cheeses beyond American have you had success with? Cheers.

Man that looks like an awesome burger even if it didn't have an ooey-gooey center. I find a combination of sharp cheddar and either Gruyere or Havarti work great for a grilled cheese so they should work in a lucy.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Looks great! I've tried the following cheeses: Gruyère, Swiss, Havarti, certain cheddars, a mix of fontina & Gruyère is nice and grating some helps too (I use our presto to make quick work of it). Great looking burger. Plain American cheese works well along with havarti, cheddar, Gouda. Lots of good options. Gotta be careful though, I've bit into a few burgers and had cheese/filling fly out the side!XL, Medium BGE & Blackstone I XAR-Woo2 & Rig-BO I Flameboss 500St. Louis, MO

@byrne092, cheese flying out the side sounds like victory!! That and egg yolk! Thank you!Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

You want fresh cheese, rather than stuff aged over a year. Most shredded cheese will work, since it's designed for melting.

Looks terrific! I like plain American cheese in a Juicy Lucy.
