    I took one at the start then watched football, didn't feel like walking down the street to shoot around the trees :(

    What did you shoot it with?
    NIkon d7200 and Tamron 150-600, it's my walkaround setup for wildlife. For good stuff, like football,  I'll use my D4s.

    No view due to cloud coverage here. But, was able to see all phases via the Bronco game as they kept showing it every now and then.

    Total Lunar eclipses occur almost every 6 months.  And pending weather, 50% of the planet gets to observe it.  The moons orbit is slightly elliptical so, the size of the moon in the sky varies about 14% from smallest to largest.  the fact this lunar eclipse occurred close to perigee isn't exactly a rare phenomena.  So once again the media hype over states a common occurrence, and without using any precise measuring equipment, this recent lunar eclipse will look the same as any other lunar eclipse to the naked eye.  for those who enjoyed seeing it, that's cool, but don't get sucked in to the media hype.  Total Solar eclipses on the other hand are a far more difficult thing to observe.  While they do occur almost as regularly as lunar eclipses, the path of totality is a narrow strip, and therefore only a small percentage of the planet gets to experience each one, quite often much of the path of totality is over ocean, so to observe a total solar eclipse, you either have to be quite lucky to have the path of totality pass over you, or you have to be willing to travel and place yourself in the path of totality.  And the solar totality only lasts a couple of minutes as compared to the long length of time the lunar eclipse can be observed.  August 2017 is the next Total Solar Eclipse to cross the CONUS.  I will take my son out of school for 2 days to travel to see it.  My only totality to date I went to Hawaii in 1991 to witness.  the recent Annular a couple of years ago I watched with my telescope with a solar filter observing about a 95% eclipse.

    I lucked out and watched it rise over a smooth Atlantic and clear sky in Ft Lauderdale.  Was working down there and had a nice ocean front room for once.
