Does your egg stay open with the daisy wheel off?

I bought my LBGE used and it has always felt borderline when I leave the lid open. When I take the daisy wheel off it will not stay open on its own. Any adjustment ideas?

Easier to just flip the entire band set. Zip tie them closed at the hinge, loosen the two bolts that are not bent. Lift off the dome, lift the band assembly turn over set back down. Set dome down align and tighten. Over simplified but basically all there is to it. If the gasket needs to be replaced now is the time.

Don't forget to move the handle.
