Another Superior Angus tri-tip from Restaurant Depot, flip seared on flames, and a few minutes with dome closed on each side until 125 internal, then sat on the cutting board for 3 minutes, sliced, and served

@beatarmy ,I buy them by the cryopack usually about 7-8 in a bag, then I vacuum seal them in individual bags and freeze. Then thaw and cook as necessary.Using a MBGE,woo/w stone, livin' in Hayward California," The Heart Of The Bay "

Anton, what price per pound at RD? costco has them in cryovacs too and just curious.

Stopped in and asked my butcher about tri-tip availability. He said they seldom get them in 'cuz he needs to order 70lbs at a time ... and they don't move in this town. I'm beginning to think the city of Washington is in another world ...

@theyolksonyou ... that suggestion is wrong in so many ways ... children are supposed to support their aging parents. Hmmm ... maybe I can talk him into being the payee ...

I cant find the receipt, but I think 6.99 per lb, or 7.99. This is also Superior Angus, I don't mind paying extra because it is better tasting to me. Costco's prices are good, but RD has more selection, and full roasts of everything.

Great cook, I am with you on the doneness. Tri-tip is my favorite steak and extremely reasonable price wise.

@NPHuskerFL , probably a buck or two more than I pay, but then again, if it makes us happy, it is always worth it!
@DoubleBogey, it is a line of product out of Gilroy Ca, the garlic capitol of our agricultural region, great stuff. The whole line is available here, garlicdude.com, mamaraps.com, garlicshoppe.com.
Note, I load up my elfster box with this stuff for cazzys annual rub and sauce exchange.

@BYS1981 Yes that was the price for Prime for me also. Guess I'll give it a go. It's just not a real popular cut out here I guess.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
