OT: Anyone Use This Thermometer for Surface Temp?

Picked this up for $5.00 at the Restaurant Supply Store. Not sure I need it, but it will give me another thing to observe as I continue with this obsession.

    If left in the whole time they will smoke over. I have several of that type of thermometer. Not that particular brand, but pretty much the same thing. Because they are inexpensive, I use them to monitor the 5 levels in Unit #1 and side to side grate readings in the other units. They work great for this purpose.
