FWIW, many Prime products, especially heavy ones and not very popular ones, have shipping baked into the price. You can often find many products at Walmart or other local retailer for much less. But for anything that's popular or common, prices are the same.

And be careful of their convenient "oh, we weren't able to ship on time" excuse for heavy items scheduled for Saturday or Sunday delivery. Had them pull that scam a few times. Ordered a desktop PC or other heavy item on Friday with Saturday delivery for $9 and they conveniently forgot to specify Saturday delivery so it came the following week. They didn't want to pay for overnight for a heavy item. First time I thought it was a genuine accident, second time I was a bit skeptical - third time I knew it was intentional.

Well, yet another quirk of mine has been revealed! I have never used Netflix nor do I rent any movies, nor do I watch any TV series and extremely little TV at all. Now that you guys have explained why it's a good deal for you I understand. "Thanks", Ron said as he crawled back under his rock!
BTW the last movie I saw in a theatre was the Johnny Cash story or The Story of Pi.
Ron, you aren't the only person that doesn't pay for Prime, and waits until I have enough in my cart to meet the $35 requirement for free shipping.  And when I want something fast (i.e. don't want to wait for my cart to accumulate), I just pick out whatever smokewood I am getting low on and order enough to cover the $35.
