As the forecast map changes there is one constant, that Erika is headed for St. Marys.  Stocked up on lump and protein and I'm ready to keep the Egg lit.

Looks like she'll be a rain maker. Hopefully it doesn't stall over land here. We're already getting our daily dose of rain and couple that with more rain and TS or CAT 1-3 wind and you've got issues. That said I don't see it making landfall as a Major Hurricane. But, it's not impossible either. We'll know more by Sunday/Monday.

Stock up on baby wipes as well. 

They will make a world of difference in the worst of times.

Come on. It's a tropical storm. I plan to pick up the plastic lawn furniture on the dock by Wednesday if we even get anything.
A hurricane can cause real trouble, but a storm. I've slept on the boat is that kind of wind.

If it ends up coming at us here from the Gulf side TS or Cane with our soil already saturated it will likely attribute to downed trees, powerlines, flooding etc. That's what happened the last time a TS hit. Yes it will be better than a Major Hurricane.  Still peeps should be prepared. Prepare for the worse and hope for the best is what I say.

I was in Charlotte when Hugo hit, I woke at 3:00 am to the smell of salt in the air. We didn't have power for at least two weeks. We had one hell of a block party with everyone's grills pulled into the street since we couldn't get out of the neigborhood due to downed trees to cook what was in everyone's freezer. Advice: get a manual can opener and dry ice. Luckily, I was out of town on businesses most of the time, but every time I landed, the city was still dark.

Glad to hear it.  We're not immune to high winds up our way, either.  You just don't hear about it because of our sparse population.  A tree hit our house in 2009 and another one hit our shed in 2011.  No one was hurt, either time, but certainly no fun.  P.S. @Johnkitchens you are a good man.

Glad it has broken up. It did motivate me to clean up the back porch!  . Too many things seem to collect out there that could fly around if a storm did come this way. Should be a wet day tomorrow.

Always better to be over prepared than the latter. It's still gonna dump a good bit of rain so we'll see. I kinda doubt it'll get organized and become a TS or Hurricane before US landfall but, it's not entirely impossible. We're ready either way.
