Chicken pitas from the Egg

Options
Hello All,
We had some B/S chicken breast in the fridge that needed to be used, so I decided to make chicken pitas. Started by making a marinade from Greek yogurt seasoned with garlic salt, black pepper, paprika, oregano, and about 10 cloves of fresh garlic. B/S breasts hung out in there in the fridge for about 6 hrs or so.

Started the grill and got it up to about 400, raised, direct. Scraped off most of the marinade and put the chicken on first. After about 10 minutes I flipped the chicken and moved it away from direct flame then put on onion, tomato, and lemon brushed with olive oil. About 10 minutes more in total then puled everything off and let it rest a bit.

Assembled pitas w/ mixed greens, Greek yogurt, pepperoncini, feta, cucumber, and grilled chicken, onion, tomato. Squeezed on some lemon and put a little salt right on top.

Reviews were a little mixed on these, but overall VERY promising. The store bought pitas were not good; pretty dry and broke easily. The grilled lemon ended up VERY bitter, probably used too much. I loved the tomato, but my wife thought it was too mushy (good taste, bad texture). Onions were a universal hit as was the chicken. I rushed this all a bit so I got a little bitter sootiness from the grill.

Will cook them again in the future, I'm sure next time will be better.

Cheers all -
