whiskey or wine barrel smoker anyone?

My Sept issue of Popular Mechanics just arrived. It has a page devoted to turning a wooden barrel into a smoker in just 2 hours time.  Cut off the top, line the bottom with fire brick add charcoal and PestO-ChangeO you have a smoker! Want to put that on your wooden deck? :o

Now here's the neat thing about the article - it lists a simple pork butt recipe to let it cook overnight to an internal temperature of 145 degrees! 145 DEGREES??? I think Popular Mechanics ought to stick with mechanical topics!
