I paid around $800 for less work than that a few years ago when we had rats in the attic. Also had to get the roof fixed as there was a big hole they were coming in from. Money well spent. We had evidence of the rats making it into the house the form of trackprints in the snow in our Christmas Village in the living room and a half-eaten loaf of bread they found their way into.

When we found the bread, I laughed and started singing "There's a rat in mi kitchen, what I'm a gonna do..." My wife wasn't laughing.  :o

Ouch. Man the one I saw was so damn big I wouldn't be laughing one bit! I can't do rats or spiders. Snakes, no sweat.

Great.   Just in case this happens to me, whom do I need to call and ask for the "Chubbs Combo Package" ?

Your exterminator is ripping you off, unless your house is really old, poorly constructed and has lots of entry points that need to be sealed off. My house is 2500 sq ft and about 12 years old. It only cost 600 buck to fix my problem.   My guy used gray painted flashing to seal all the gaps, except for where the AC lines came into the house where he used hardware wire cloth.  The best I could tell, that was where they were coming into my place.  I tried on my own trapping them for over two years. Finally, I just called a,pro. Glad I did.

Mine would have been less than that but I opted for the 5 year biological enzyme treatment which was $275.
