Context - it was my sisters birthday yesterday. She's visiting with the kids this week (they live in Michigan). I've been working like a dog for the past few months (new job). I took the day off to cook for her party (she has some friends in Houston).
Menu:
Apps-
spinach artichoke dip
buffalo chicken dip ('coz my niece loves the one I make)
proteins-
brisky (I owe my nephew his birthday brisket)
turkey Jucy Lucy sliders on Hawaiian rolls
Sides-
Brussels sprouts
zukes
salad
mac n cheese ( the kids love it)
Everything is going on the egg. Except the salad. The new flame boss is keeping things real for the brisky currently.
I'm deep in a couple of bottles of Tito's. So far I have found its good in a modified Moscow mule, with fresh strawberry lemonade, and ginger ale with fresh ginger.
I'm having a grand day. I don't really give a f*ck about anyone else at the moment.
(Edit - folks still keep calling from work, so far everyone is alive)

Egging on your birthday should be a mandated national holiday. I love having an extra day to cook on my egg and sit around in comfies. Had to laugh. I had a friend that was an ER nurse in the old Charity Hospital in "Nawlins. Said she has a few women show up with potatoes down in the hoohah! Didn't mention if they were haning out with @nolaegghead or not. Did say something about seeing a Porsche rolling out at a high rate of speed from the ER dropoff site.
