so I decided to take the plunge and cobblestone the rest of my driveway. Demo is in progress right now and I took the day off of work to watch.

Two years ago I had my asphalt driveway replaced also with asphalt. Seeing it runs 160 feet long it looks more like a highway leading back into the woods!

Cool! Had our slagway ripped out that leads from the road to the front gate/driveway parking lot awhile ago and went with concrete (I can't recall if we did 2,000 or 4,000 psi). Heavy vehicles so I know we went extra thick especially on the edges.

Well the rain halted work today so I've basically got a mud pit for half a driveway. Hopefully loosing half a day won't put them too far behind schedule and they can still finish by next Friday.1 large BGE, Spartanburg SC

@northGAcock it's coming along well. They actually started laying some of the stone today. Monday was mostly them digging down below the frost line and filling in with gravel. We ended up with 24 pallets of stone. I'm pretty happy with the progress so far.1 large BGE, Spartanburg SC

That is something I have always wanted to do. It looks very cool, and you have to think, much of Europe's cities, towns and villages, still have cobble stone that has been there for centuries. They do not have to worry much about concrete breaking or black top pot holes.
