ok burnt out my blender stick already. Anyone recommended one that is not made with plastic parts that fail with hard use? Love them for making sauces and green lighting shrimp sauce? This one that burnt was a quisinart.

Mine is a Hamilton Beach. I bought it at a garage sale 15-20 years ago - for a buck. No idea how old it is. Pretty sure it's mostly plastic though. Still going strong. I use it fairly often. I recently bought an Oster beehive blender for heavier duty. Haven't used it much, but so far so good. No way I'll ever waste $400 on a Vitamix.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I have an old, old Cuisnart. For modern ones, you're going to have to go high end for quality. They've become disposable appliances.

Thanks. I guess the disposalable is the life we live. If it does not break how can we sell you a new one.Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

I've got an older version of the 5 speed KA. Works like a champ, breaks apart for easy cleaning. Mine didn't come with all these gadgets, just the two blade and a mixing cup I think.

Anyone here wanna be a millionaire?
Crowdfund a project to design/manu/sell a cordless blender. There IS one on the market, but it's a frickin $250!! That's ridiculous, the last cordless grass clipper I bought (with more metal mechanisms than any stick blender) cost me $26.
I still can't believe this market segment is not served. Somebody, please, go for it!Counting to ten only makes it Premeditated.

I have a thunderstick that I bought from an infomercial 10 years ago. I think it has a lawn mower motor in it.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I've got a Waring. Much heavier duty than my old Oster. Very fast and powerful, altho' considered the "light duty" model. Mine is a few years old, but one that looks just about the same sells for $75 at Amazon.
