OT Dry Ice Help

Does anyone here use dry ice in their yeti ? If so do you leave the drain plug out for ventilation? Heading out with the tundra camping was curious, thanks for any help

  • I used it once when transporting a variety of frozen stuff from the freezer during our last move. I left the drain plug half untwisted. Be prepared, whatever you put in there will get REALLY frozen (my 35 was covered in frost). Also, fill up any empty space with something like newspaper so the dry ice will last longer.

I've not used dry ice in my Yeti (yet).  However, I do know that the newer Yetis have a small vent because the originals were so airtight that when things cooled and the air contracted they were too hard to open.  I got my Yeti for Christmas and it has this vent.  If you don't know about yours - my 65 leaks a little water on the hinge side of the top if I tip it, so that is a way you could find out if yours has the vent I guess.

I thought I had head this, my 65 is less than a month old, I'll check the hing side might leave drain partially open as well. Thanks for the info
