This isn't exactly the most advanced dessert you will ever cook and you may wonder why we are even wasting the time to post it.
Well, it's because growing up in Chattanooga, TN (the home of the Moon Pie) I learned that it takes 15 seconds in the microwave to reach eating perfection on this marshmallow filled graham cracker creation.
So we sat out on a mission to determine the optimal time on a Big Green Egg.
2 mins and 35 seconds on a 325 degree (indirect) Egg setup and you are in heaven!!!!!!!!!
I recommend a pint of hand cramping cold milk. I never was a believer in the RC Cola and a Moon Pie. That pairing only sounded good in a song!

Love me some moon pie! Nice!Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ....

Nice! It has never occurred to me before that a moon pie is basically a s'more with the chocolate on the outside. If you cut them in 1/2 or 1/4 maybe the marshmellow would get a little toasty?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Good idea man. Is it better on the egg than the microwave?1 large BGE, Spartanburg SC

I keep a glass in the freezer for just such an occasion. Milk stays soooooo cold that way. Yumm.

I grew up in southern VA and ate more than my share of moon pies in my youth. Haven't had one in years. When I do (if I can find here in the Seattle area), I'm egging one!BGE novice...A Southern Belle living in Seattle.
