You just paid 30 bucks for a coozie.  It comes with a little can.  We have a couple also.  You can hide your stash of Copenhagen in them, and your kids will never find it.  Unless they think - 'hey, there's a beer!".

those air cans would come in handy on the boat if they fit a twisted tea can and said pepsi on the side   big brother on the lake has a 12 inch glass scope hooked up to the laptop, from what ive seen he can read the calorie count on the can from 6 miles away and take a video. theres a big market for those

Sadly big brother is not just watching the lake. His gaze goes much farther I assure you. If he wishes, he can probably tell you what kind of toilet paper that you use. He is ever watchful these days. Smart phones and smart tv's is his biggest lens.

I live in hotels for work.  I collect a lot of hotel points.  All the suffering in hotels rooms means I deserve a nice Yeti cooler.  I believe you posted the RTIC coolers/political thread.  I already reserved a RTIC Brown 20 for work days.  Thanks for that post.  I probably won't get YETI anymore because of the price.

YES you can!  Go to redeem your points from IHG website and select the gift card of your choice. I went with Amazon and had it shipped to my house.  If there is a Cabelas or Bass Pro near you, you could go that route.  My Yeti 75 retailed for $450 and I got it for $444 on Amazon.  Keep watching the prices because they change everyday.

I've looked into getting myself one of these high end coolers, but the thing that stops me is having some thief steal it. It would be great to take camping or whatever, but having to keep my eye on it is just a buzz kill.

Even leaving my Yeti Tumbler in my truck sometimes, leaves me uneasy.

When I saw the name of the link I was hesitant to click on it. Thought it might be one of your pranks. Curiosity finally got the best of me though. That's actually a neat feature that I didn't know about. Thanks for sharing.

I do understand what you are saying to a degree. But if you let the fear of someone stealing something from you prevent you from buying things that you want, you are shorting yourself my friend. You can't go through life worrying about things you can't control. If you want one, I would buy one and enjoy it. You only live once.

Yeti has a cool vinyl coated cable and a long neck lock that is for locking their coolers. Seems like a great idea with all things considered. I got the ole Yeti sitting right out in the sun in the back of a black pick up for the 10 day ice retention test. No shade at all during the day. The Pelican came through like a champ.

No sir. The Pelican has been bullet proof. It gets used on the boat a lot in the Gulf and takes a beating. I have had zero issues with the Pelican. Pelican is as good as it gets for durability. The only issue with any of the rotomolded coolers is the handles. What I mean by this is if you are going to be hoisting the cooler high up frequently, it's easier to pick one up with hard handles. Try pressing a fully loaded Yeti or any rotomolded cooler above your head with the rope handles. It's tricky brother. If you are using the cooler in tight places, then the rope handles like Yeti has is the way to go. They take up far less space than the hard handles. There is no one best design for every situation. But when it comes to quality you will not be disappointed in a Pelican. They are tanks.

This is just my opinion and what I have noticed out on the Gulf, but I think Pelican keeps ice better than Yeti, Engel, Frigid Rigid, Bison, Orca and Ice Hole. I haven't got to see RTI or Orion on action yet to compare it to them. But of all the ones that I have saw when the coolers were even close to the same size, the Pelican usually wins the ice retention war. Not bashing any cooler. Just sharing my thoughts. They all will easily exceed most people's needs. As you can see I own a Yeti and have several RTI's on reserve. So I'm not pro Pelican if you will. But I honestly feel that if absolute max ice retention is what you are looking for, Pelican is probably your best bet. RTI and Orion may turn out to be even better. But again I have never seen them in use to make a comparison.

Is your Pelican white? Fading, yellowing at all? Going with the Tan. Watching for a good deal on a 45q as well.
My only real concern was the complaints of the drain leaking or allot of condensation around the drain area as it will be in a car or SUV not back of truck or boat.
I like the duel style handles on the cooler.

Yes sir, my Pelican is white. And yes it has faded a little. Not much considering how much time it has spent in the direct sunlight. They will all fade a little when exposed to untold hours of sunlight and salt. However the fading is minimal compared to a standard plastic cooler. You can prevent or at least almost prevent the fading by throwing a towel or blanket over your cooler. But when I'm fishing I don't take the trouble to cover mine. With normal use, it will probably never fade. But after months in the salt and sunlight, a little fading is inevitable my friend. As to the drain, I have had no leaks to date. And the Pelican has been used very hard. I would buy another one in a second.

My Pelican 45 has been in the sun for almost 2 years and I haven't noticed any significant fading (maybe a tiny bit).  It is white.  The drain has a replaceable rubber washer - if it were to leak (mine doesn't), that part is a consumable and can be replaced.

The top seal is so good that it draws a vacuum after you close it with ice.

Mine is not significant either. But you can tell it has faded some. Especially when looking at it upside a new one. I have zero complaints with the Pelican.

I've said this before about the Pelican - my only complaint is it's HEAVY when empty and worse when full.  And it's big.

@Photo Egg the thing with the pelican drain is you have to tighten it all the way. I have half assed it a couple of times and it leaked. Tightened it up and it stopped.

Polar Bear coolers do a really good job keeping ice for 24 hours.  I haven't had mine out in the direct sun but I would say there really good but not amazingly good

I have a couple of the soft sides. They are great for for short term cold storage. Much more convenient than lugging a big cooler when not needed.

I get it, but those coolers are not pocket change. Maybe one day!
