Weber user new to the egg

I have been cooking on a Weber Charcoal Kettle for over 25 years and I wanted to try an egg but my deck space was limited, I came up with a fantastic solution to have the best of both worlds as I learn a new way to Q.  Is this blasphemy?

Welcome.  Not blasphemy - every cooker has a purpose.  Whatever blows your pant leg up.  Glad to have you around!

Welcome aboard! No way that's blasphmey but once you get used to the egg you will want the extra counter space.

Great setup, I polished my culinary skills on a Weber for years prior to moving up to my Egg.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey.  Nice set-up.  At the end of the day "it's the Indian, not the arrow".  Have fun with the BGE.

That looks like a great set up- welcome!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Looks good.  I have  medium egg, a 25 year old Weber kettle, a Weber gas grill, and a KJ classic.  Used all 4 for a family get together this weekend - lots of ribs and wings.  As time has gone on, however, I find that I use the kettle less than the other grills.  I tend only to use it when I am cooking large quantities of wings.  Not having your set up, I mostly use it as a table substitute.

I started BBQ'n with a Hibachi.   Remember THEM?   At one point I owned maybe a half dozen of 'em so if guests came over, I could just 'scale up'.

Eventually I bought a Smokey Joe.   I THINK I gave it away to my GF at some point.   So, I bought a bigger Weber for 40$ at the local grocery.   That was in the 70s, still.

I WORE it out. Went thru 3 sets of WHEELS when the stores still carried parts of Charcoal grills.
Bought ANOTHER Weber which I just sold a couple months ago after buying my XL BGE.   I had just replaced the VENTS with new and sold it with the (unused) original grate it came with, having used my first grate thru 2 grills!

I wonder how a Weber would do using REAL LUMP rather than Briquettes?
