Need advice on stoker and rain forecast for tonight.

I live in GA and I am supposed to be cooking a 17 lb brisket for tomorrow. the plan is to put it on around midnight, however there is a 50% chance of rain. I started to make a box for my stoker but the box cracked big time. What I am thinking of doing is using my 10 x 10 tailgate tent over my egg. Take a smaller box and put it upside down over my stoker with weights on top in case the wind picks up and make a cover to go over the fan out of an old ziplock tupperware container. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to improve upon any of this?

Chuck sounds like a good plan. Just tie down your 10x10. And post those pics of that Brisket!

Take a look at your setup and confirm:
    - It won't get rained on
    - It has some ventilation, because electronics build a bit of heat
    - If it gets rained on, it won't be in a pool of water

I have never had my fan die from rain, though the whole unit went down once when the plug into the extension cord was in standing water. That was bad planning.

Good of luck and tell us how it goes.

I think some folks were using a red solo cup as a blower cover.

Your plan sounds good. The only thing I get nervous about is the lack of ventilation in the tupperware box. Perhaps drill a hole in the side?
