I just received my 60 inch compact custom island manufactured exclusively for The Big Green. You can see a picture here:

The one thing I am already missing are hooks for my hot grids. Any suggestions?

It is a shame they don't build in some hooks.  Could you drill some holes in lip of the metal counter?  If you did that you could just add some S hooks.  If you don't want to drill you could try the 3M commander stick on hooks.  They have some that are metal.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

  • Ah, you must have been looking on a mobile device. Here is the picture. I didn't know how to post a picture in the form (newbie), but just figured it out. Here is the table.

Thanks for sharing the pic @SmokeyPitt . I think I'll try the metal 3M hooks.

I have to admit. That is sweet. Me personally i would build a magazine type rack or something  similar to a mail holder on a bigger scale. It could sit on the side and hold racks, pizza stones, plate setter. Something that looked like a "W" This way it keeps the sides of that table from getting beat up.

That is a great idea. The sides actually have doors. On the right I can hold a 10 pound bag of charcoal. The left side give me storage for spices, my BBQ Guru, electric starter etc. The doors beneath the BGE open up and there are two shelves, on that slides out which is great for the plate setter and some of my toppers.

I'm 6'2" so the height could be a bit of a challenge for someone shorter, but I found the EGG to be comfortable for getting the food in and out.

Happy to help. Not sure you live but a local welder/fabricator could make one pretty easily. Or you could make one pretty simply out of an eight foot 2x12 and some of those flat plates they use when they make roof trusses. Just put them in a vice and bend them 90. Its going to get filthy either way.

Awesome idea @Jstroke. I'm not the most handiest person, but I do know a good welder.

looks nice and green wherever you are - I wouldn't keep rubs or any foodstuffs in that for fear of critters and humidity.  also might want to confirm the waterproof nature of it before storing electronics (eg guru), or put them in a rubbermaid container first.
    Love you bro!

Thanks @Legume. I am in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The doors all have weatherproofing on them and they claim to be waterproof. I also have a cover on top of it, so hopefully that will keep out the moisture (let alone the critters).

I usually don't keep any spices or rubs outside, but a great tip you've given me.

Thanks @SMITTYtheSMOKER. I heard that they were made by Challenger too and I liked this table versus the angular traditional Challenger that I saw locally. So far I'm enjoying the product. Hardest part was that I had to clean my EGG so I to the top off. Getting everything re-aligned without my original installation kit was a bit of a challenge. I still have a slight underbite of my lid that I need to correct, as well as replace my gasket.
