For those so inclined, noticed that Royal Oak in the 8Kg (17.6#) bag is $9.97 at Home Depot (I think this $3 off the regular price)

Is that in BC or Washington?  The regular price of 8kg blue bag RO in Southern Ontario jump from 14.99 to 17.99 this year.

I've only got 3 bags left so I'll probably swing by tomorrow morning and snag ten or so.

Had to go pick up some silicone for the table build so went ahead and picked up 10 bags of lump.

@Toxarch - I like the way you think - "I had to stop and grab a 16oz tube of silicon, there was room in the truck, it was on sale so I picked up 175# of lump."

My justification is that I just saved $30 since it was on sale PLUS the gas of going 15 miles round trip for each bag. That lump comes out to like $5 per bag when you figure in the gas. Even less when you figure in an hourly pay rate. It's almost free.

I'm thru messing w/RO.    Found ceramic or stone chunks in 2 of 3 bags and the SIZE is ranging from small to medium.  FEW larger pieces at all.   And soem non-coaled wood, as well.   But not much.
Burns well with good aroma and can really crank when needed.

I've got a bag of Frontier Brand which seems to have larger chunks and no gravel yet.

That's why I started this with the caveat "For those so inclined..." At this price is might be worth putting up with the odd moon rock and non-carbonized piece. If I happen to notice a sale on Frontier - will let you know.

It burns. And it's better than the other stuff sold locally. Couple of rocks don't hurt and are caught in the KAB.

Damn - that's cheaper than it is in some places in North America. I would have thought that you could get some great African lump in Europe.
